Dunes, Person, and Mountains, Death Valley, CA
This is one of the latest images I have taken of the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park. I rarely have anybody in my photographs, as my images are about nature and the beauty in the landscape, so I don't want to have a person distract the viewer. However, in this image I didn't actually see the person in the viewfinder. I was taking a long distant shot of the lit-up dunes against the shadowed mountains, and did not notice that a person had walked out to this area and was in front of the dunes I was photographing. However, the person gives some perspective to the size of the dunes, so I am happy to have a person there.
