Description: The Eastern Sierra mountains are very interesting to photograph in stark contrast to the Western side, which is heavily forested. The mountains are much more rugged, and the dry almost desert-like plains of Owens valley are even drier do to the use of the water by Southern California coming off the mountains. This image shows the whole environment of Owens Valley for me, with the mountains the backdrop to the scrub brush. The dirt road leads the viewer into the image and ties both the mountains and foreground together. |
