Description: This image is of an archway in Santiago, Spain. I actually came to Spain to see my daughter, Heather, who was studying on a Rotary "Ambassadorial" scholarship at the university in Santiago de Compostela, for the school year. I came with my 4x5 view camera to photograph the very old buildings and churches in this city that is a pilgrimage site in Europe. The weathered stones that make up the walls of this archway are very photogenic, and the lighting enhanced the feeling of depth in this picture. I decided to print this image as a duo-tone because the color enhances the feeling of the age of the site. This image is my favorite from this trip and I sincerely hope that you enjoy it as much as I do! |
