Lightning Strike, Arches National Park, UT
I was photographing in Arches National Park in Utah when a huge thunderstorm came in. I could see the rain and lightning strikes in the distance, so I set up my triipod with my Nikon D800E and waited for a lightning strike. Then I started counting to the next lightning strike and figured that the same amount of time would pass before the next lightning strike, It was about 20 seconds between lightning strikes, so at about 18 seconds after a lightning strike I pressed the shutter on a continuos shooting setting and hoped for the best. I took about 100 images before I quit doing that after each lightning strike, and when I looked at all of pictures later, I found that I had captured three lightning strikes! This one was the best.
