This image was taken while it was snowing pretty heavily, and what appears as fog in the distance is really snow. The half tree and the pond made a good composition, and the cliffs in the background provides the depth I wanted to convey. This picture is a good example of why Yosemite Valley is so great to photograph, as the distant granite cliffs give the subjects of interest in this picture a backdrop that a never-ending distance would not.
