Trees in Fog, Lake Forest, CA

I moved to Lake Forest in 1987, and the main reason we moved there was because of the eucalyptus forest. One sunday morning I woke up to find this fantastic fog in the forest behind my home, so I quickly dressed and got my view camera and tripod, film holders and went out exploring. This image is the best composition I made that morning. Euclyptus trees have a soft bark that almost looks like parchment paper. I put a large tree in the foreground,a nd let the forest fade into the fog behind it. Many people tell me this photograph looks more like a pen and ink drawing then a photograph. I take that as a complement.
