Alaska
This website has my latest images from a two week land-sea cruise to Alaska I took in late May to early June 2016. I started in Fairbanks, and went southward to Anchorage, photographing Denali National Park and the surrounding area. Then I took a ship from Whittier to Vancouver, British Columbia, along Glacier Bay National Park and the Inside Passage.
Alaska is an incredible place, with landscapes as big as I have ever seen. Being in Alaska in the Spring meant that there was still snow on the mountains, but there were also wildflowers on the tundra. The temperature was also very agreeable, and it only rained the first 4 days of the trip. I even got to see Mt. Denali without any clouds, which makes me one of the "30% club", because only 30% of the people who come to see Mt. Denali actually see it without clouds obscuring the view.
Since this was my first trip to Alaska, I made many "grand landscape" images. If I come back I will look for more personal, intimate images. Alaska overwhelms the senses with it's beauty and majesty.
