This was the third time I had been to Muir Woods. I could never get a good photograph of the woods as a whole because the images always turned out to busy, without a subject of interest. When i saww this scene off to the right of the path I was on, i realized that it interrested me not because of the beautiful trees, but because of the light hitting the distant trees. It was the light streaks that are the subject of this image. The streaks separate the near trees from the far trees and the highlights on the leaves on the right side give the streaks an end point.
